Fort Braden

Fort Braden (1839-1842) - A U.S. Army post established in 1839 during the Second Seminole War, by 1st Lieutenant S.B. Thornton and Company G, 2nd U.S. Dragoons, at the present day town of Fort Braden, Leon County, Florida. Named for Virginia Braden, wife of Dr. Joseph Braden. Abandoned in 1842. Also known as Fort Virginia Braden.

The post was abandoned 7 Jun 1842 at the end of the Second Seminole War.
