Fort McGilvray (1942-1944) - A World War II Coastal Fort first established in 1942 on Caines Head, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska. Named Fort McGilvray in G.O. 17, 2 Apr 1943, after Captain John McGilvray who established Fort Kenay in 1869. Abandoned in 1944.
Part of the Harbor Defense of Seward.
Current Status
Part of Caines Head State Recreation Area, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska.
