Fort Sanders (2) (1863-1864) - A U.S. Army post established as Fort Buckner in 1863 during the U.S. Civil War in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee. Renamed for Brigadier General William P. Sanders] who was killed in the Battle of Fort Sanders, 18 Nov 1863. Abandoned in 1864.
