Fort Terrett (1852-1854) - Established by Ltc. Henry Bainbridge, 1st U.S. Infantry on 5 Feb 1852 and named for 1st Lt. John C. Terrett killed in the Mexian War at the battle of Monterrey, 21 Sep 1846. Abandoned 26 Feb 1854. Also known as Fort Lugubre and Post on the North Fork of Llano River.

Location: Marker Location: From Sonora, take I-10 East about 30 miles to Exit 429 go under I-10 to FM 3130, go east on 3130 about 1 mile to CR 307, go down CR 307 (River Road) about 1 mile to marker.
