| A British fort built on the southern bank of the Tennessee River in what is now Monroe County, near the point where the Tellico River runs into the Little Tennessee, about 30 miles SW of Knoxville. It was built in 1756 by Gen. Andrew Lewis, the chief engineer of the British troops, under the direction of the Earl of Loudon.
