Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville (1680-1767) - Born 23 Feb 1680 in Montreal, Quebec. Explorer, colonizer and four times Governor of French Louisiana. Responsible with his older brother Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville for initial settlements at Biloxi, New Orleans and Mobile, sometimes known as the “Father of Louisiana.” Died on 7 Mar 1767, in Paris, France. Also known as Sieur de Bienville.
