-Built on the Butterfield Overland Mail route, it was originally called Camp on Oak Creek. Intermittently used by the Confederates during the Civil War. The troops were later transferred to Fort Concho due to water shortage. There are sandstone ruins and there are plans to restore the fort. Located on private property, but the owners allow drive-throughs.
