Treaty of Utrecht (1713) - The Treaty of Utrecht was a treaty between a number of belligerents signed in Utrecht to end War of the Spanish Succession. The treaties between European states, including Spain, Great Britain, France, Portugal, Savoy and the Dutch Republic.

In North America, the War of the Spanish Succession was known as Queen Anne's War. In the treaty, France ceded to Great Britain its claims to Newfoundland, the Hudson's Bay Company territories in Rupert's Land and the Acadian colony of Nova Scotia.
